Work With the Consulate, Documents Necssary to Optain a Visa.
One of the crucial stages on the way to receiving a job abroad is going through the consular department of an Irish Embassy of a corresponding country. For citizens of the following countries of the former Soviet Union (except Israel, in which a great number of ex-citizens of the former USSR and the Commonwealth of Independent States reside) consular service is available as follows on the list:
For citizens of the countries, not mentioned in the list, the service is provided over nearest Embassy of Ireland after obtaining a permit from the Department of Foreign Affairs of Ireland, which can be done via our Irish office
Getting a visa is a pleasant process, because a journey abroad follows it. However for this to happen, a candidate must be especially attentive and prompt, acting exactly as recommended by our agency for his own sake. We are the only mediator between you (i.e. competitor), company and the Irish state in the person of Embassy at this stage, therefore we administer events considering all information available.
Speaking of the Irish state, it must be mentioned that it is not really nasty about the bureaucracy. That's why under normal circumstances the exit documents obtaining process isn't too painful. Rather often however there arise problems of various kinds. So it's necessary to mind that Ireland is a member of EEC and one of the countries of Western Europe and all the documents should be completed with all possible precision.
There are two following possible ways of the document packages delivery and receipt logistics:
1. personal (candidate's presence in the Consulate)
2. remote on agency request (without candidate's presence ). A package, when prepared and all of the documents checked thoroughly at least once, should be sent with one of courier's services (for example, DHL or UPS). The inviting party refunds the visa and travel expenses to the candidate on arrival for the interview or after starting the new job. In absolute majority of cases, companies cover the family travel expenses
Beneath lists of documents for the most widely required visa types (in our work) are given.
Interview Visa
This visa type is obtained by specialists invited by a company for an interview in Ireland. The visa is to be used within 3 months from the date of issue. Time permitted for staying in Ireland is determined by Irish Customs Service at the border crossing. Documents needed to obtain the given visa type are as follows:

- Invitation letter from the company
- Letter of obligation from the company for which professional currently works
- Visa application form

Work Visa
The given visa type is commonplace for IТ-professionals getting a job in Ireland. It is also sometimes called "Harny visa" by the name of the minister, who lobbied the legislation of visa routine facilitation for specialists in the area of information technologies, medicine and architecture. Harny visa is processed over 3-5 workdays and enables the visa holder to change employers while the visa is in force which is equal to 2 years. If necessary, the visa effect can be prolonged. Also it grants the right to the family members to join the professional. See more details on this in Join-Spouse Visa (section №4).

Employment Visa
This visa type is a predecessor of the Work visa, and they shouldn't be confused. Employment visa takes a lot longer to obtain than Harny visa, because the process implies getting a Work Permit by the employer in Ireland for the invited professional. Work Permit is processed for a period of up to 6 weeks, after which 2 more weeks (or sometimes less) are needed to obtain the visa itself. Visa usage deadline is 3 month from the date of issue. Visa is in effect for 3 months, after expiry of which the specialist either returns home or the employer submits documents on visa effect prolongation in advance. The given visa type does not allow to change employers without obtaining a new Work Permit. As a rule, this type of visa is received by those IТ-professionals, who haven't got a necessary degree in Computer Science.
Documents needed to obtain the given visa type are as follows:
- Valid International Passport (valid for at least 2 years from the date of visa application )
- 2 recent document-sized colourful photos
- Invitation letter from the company
- Visa application form
- Work Permit (usually it is sent to the Consulate by the inviting company)
- $60
Join-Spouse Visa
The given visa type must be obtained by a specialist, who leaves for Ireland to work and their children (for whom a visa is not needed, only confirmation by Birth Certificate). A professional who accepted an offer from an Irish company can commence the visa process for his family members in 3 months after he crossed the border with Ireland. According to Irish laws, a join-spouse visa holder cannot work under it. If this person wants to work, he/she must return to the native country after finding an interested employer and wait until a work permit is obtained for him. After that, an Employment visa must be obtained (№3). In real life this causes a lot of problems to everyone and, having applied certain efforts, it is possible to get all of the necessary documents ready without leaving Ireland.
Documents needed to obtain the given visa type are as follows:
- Copy of 2 pages of the international passport of the departing specialist (the main page and the page with work or employment visa)
- Copy of Registration certificate (this is a document, which a specialist gets in Irish police in Ireland during the 1st month of his stay)
- Bank account number and account details from the bank where the specialist chose to open one
- Letter of obligation from the Irish employer
- Marital certificate (translated into English and legalized by a notary)
- Visa application form
- Applicants international passport (valid for at least 2 years from the date of submission)
- 2 recent document-sized colourful photos of the applicant
- $35
